In 2008,
Six prizes were awarded to outstanding
projects in Education, Agriculture and Tourism:
Three prizes for education were given
to:
The Merhavim Regional School and the
Department of Education of the Merhavim Regional Council, for their
contribution in upgrading the school and the regional education system;
The Western Galilee Regional High
School, for its contribution in the development of individual teaching for
all the students.
The Malkishua Youth Community, the
Eshel Hanasi Youth Village, the
Two prizes for agriculture were given
to:
MIGAL – Northern R&D for their contribution in the development of fruit tree plantations through unique collaboration between researchers in molecular biology and agricultural extension officers.
The Epstein Family from Moshav Hazeva for their contribution to the development of Ornamental Fish in the Arava.
One prize for tourism was given to:
The Moldavski Family from Moshav Dekel for its contribution in the development of tourism in the area.
The ”
2001
In 2001 an additional
ceremony was held at Kikar Sdom when 5 prizes were awarded: two for Education,
two for Agriculture and one for Entrepreneurship. Some 200 guests, the “ICA
Family”, from all over the country attended the event - representatives of the
bodies supported by ICA and members of the Council of Administration.
One prize for education was awarded to the
Erez Research and Development Team for its contribution to the
development of teaching “Sciences” to school pupils by individual research
methods. The other to “Eshel Hanasi” Youth Village for its contribution
to the development of “Communication” curriculum in schools.
In agriculture one prize was awarded to the
Davidian family in Moshav Zar’it for the development of mushroom growing
on the Confrontation Line in Galilee. The other one was given to “Ein Tamar
Fishermen” for its contribution to the development of fish raising in the
Negev region.
The prize for entrepreneurship was awarded to the Ben Family of Moshav Zofar for its contribution to the regional development of the area through innovative projects in the fields of agriculture and tourism.
1998
In 1998, Israel’s
50th Anniversary, a Prize Giving Ceremony was held in the Tel Hai
Courtyard. The event was attended by representatives of all the organizations
supported in Israel by ICA, in the presence of members of the Council of
Administration.
Prizes were awarded to outstanding projects
in Education and Agriculture.
The prize for education was given to the
“Wide Angle” project (Zavit Rehava), instigated by the Western
Galilee regional councils, for its contribution to the conceptual development
and implementation of a unique educational system for the settlement of Western
Galilee.
The prize for agriculture went to the
Southern Research and Development Team (Besor Farm) for its contribution
to the development of under cover crops in Israel in general, and in the Western
Negev in particular.
